Crawford County National Night Out
Crawford County Search and Rescue invites you to attend the first annual Crawford County National Night Out. National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Together, communities can make that happen. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Additionally, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
According to an interview in the Press Argus Courier with event coordinator, Christy Jones, local police departments from across the county will be participating, “along with the Mountainburg K-9 unit and Sheriff’s Department…area fire departments, emergency medical services, CCSR, state and federal police, military and military police, U.S. Marshals Service and Drug Enforcement Agency.”
Other local organizations will be attending with be there to provide information as well, including local animal shelters. In addition, there will be children’s activities as well as free hot dogs, sno-cones, popcorn, and drinks. Come out and meet your neighbors and those who protect and serve your neighborhoods. Making an appearance alongside the real life heroes will be the awesome fictional villains, “elite soldiers of the Galactic Empire, Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion Diamond Garrison of Arkansas, a Battle Droid and a couple fearless Mandalorians.” This should delight Star Wars fans of all ages.
The event will be held at the Van Buren High School parking lot, 2001 Pointer Trail East on Tuesday, August 1st from 5:00-8:00pm.
