Golf & Recreation

For those desiring a round of golf and challenge, several golf courses are within minutes of Main Street Van Buren:

Tennis, baseball, soccer, stockcar racing and swimming are among the many other publicly-offered recreational pursuits.

Lake Lou Emma is a family - oriented fishing lake, perfect for bank and dockside castings. Biking and hiking trails surround Lee Creek Reservoir, offering a short day hike and picnic.

Mountain Biking

The Van Buren area and surrounding Ozarks offer great opportunities for mountain bike enthusiasts. Devils Den State Park is a premier riding destination with a well developed trail system of 25 miles that can be steep at times. Devils Den hosts several annual riding events including the Arkansas State Championship.

In the River Valley you will find trails at Spring Hill Park on the Arkansas River (near Lock & Dam #13.) The trail is 7 to 10 miles long and mostly flat (river bottoms.) The trail is considered great for beginners or fast for advanced riders. There are 2 loop trails at the Lee Creek Reservoir totaling about 4 miles and suitable for all skill levels.

You can also find a variety of trails around the area in Fort Smith and near White Rock Mountain and Mt. Magazine. Consult your favorite mountain bike trails website for more details.
