Taste of Crawford County

Taste of Crawford County is an annual event that your palate does not want you to miss.  Come taste the best food in the county and help support CASA’s  goal to have a  volunteer serve every abused and neglected child in foster care. This is a great opportunity to network as well.

What is CASA?  Their website states that, “in 1977, a Seattle juvenile court judge concerned about making drastic decisions with insufficient information conceived the idea of citizen volunteers speaking up for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom. From that first program has grown a network of more than 946 CASA programs and over 77, 000 volunteer advocates in 49 States. CASA of Crawford County, Inc. began in 2001.”

“CASA of Crawford County is serving 62 children as of April 18, 2016. DCFS of Crawford County, currently has 110 children in Foster care. This means today there are 48 children without one consistent person to advocate for their best interest and to advocate for a safe, permanent , loving placement.”

For more information visit their Facebook event page or the CASA website.  The event is located at the Van Buren High School Commons at 2001 Pointer Trail East.  View Map
